Piano Lessons

I grew up with my Great-Grandfathers piano (and violin) in our home so naturally I took lessons for a number of years. Since she could walk Lana would climb up on the piano bench at her Gummy and Pappy's house and bang on the keys. Every time she was at their house my mom would teach her how to be gentle with the keys and even taught her a song (see video below)!

Needless to say, this was an exciting Christmas for Lana (and Norah) because they received a piano for Christmas from my parents! Long story short, my mom has a friend who was able to get this piano donated to us. Boy are we lucky! I am so happy that my girls get to grow up with a piano in the house as well. Lana was NOT expecting this gift at all. It was a complete surprise.

I think she was in shock.

Lana playing "City Subway" which her Gummy taught her! Not the best video resolution, but still so special to have!

Pappy & Gummy with Lana

Lana has her 1st piano lesson today which went really well! At the end of the lesson another student was there for her lesson, so Lana's teacher asked her to play something for us. I imagine she was a senior in high school, although I'm terrible at guessing people's ages anymore. But wow, did Lana's eyes light up. This girl could play! And now Lana wants to be just like her! I can't wait to see where this journey takes our little girl.

She needed a music bag so we decided to make a custom bag for her because we had some extra canvas totes in our shop. It turned out so cute! Do you play any instruments?
